Armstrong Flooring has announced it is continuing as the exclusive flooring sponsor of Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) through 2019. HFOT is a national non-profit organization that builds mortgage free, specially adapted homes nationwide for severely injured Veterans Post 9/11, to enable them to rebuild their lives.

Armstrong Flooring has been a supporter of HFOT since 2013. Nearly 90 home build projects already have been completed with many more builds planned over the next three years. HFOT Veterans can select from options in hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl plank and Alterna engineered stone flooring to personalize their homes to their specific tastes and needs. In addition to providing products and funding, many Armstrong Flooring employees, as well as a number of its distributor and retail partners, have rolled up their sleeves  and participated in HFOT home builds in their local communities and across the nation.

“We are deeply honored to have the opportunity to assist these Veterans in rebuilding their lives, one home at a time,” said Andrew Lippman, vice president of marketing. “Our involvement makes sure these homes are built with the very best flooring to suit each family’s particular situation. These men and women have served our country with pride and we hope their new homes will help ease their struggles and provide their family with many happy memories.”

“It is only with continued support from sponsors like Armstrong Flooring that together we can help more severely injured Veterans eliminate the daily obstacles and barriers that their physical limitations impose upon them and their families. Every donation of time, labor, materials and money, helps us to fulfill our commitment to our Veterans,” said Major General (USA, Ret.) Timothy P. McHale, president and CEO of HFOT.

“Homes for Our Troops inspires Armstrong Flooring employees and customers because not only does it focus on providing houses for Veterans, but it is also dedicated to preparing them for home ownership. And, as all products in the home are donated including the mortgage, the Veteran doesn't have to worry about any expenses. The Veteran is involved in the entire process of the build from the kickoff to the flooring selection and to the actual building of the home and community events,” said Lippman.

Many of Armstrong Flooring’s retail partners have donated installation services to HFOT over the past three years, and have saved HFOT over $100,000 in installation costs by the covering the cost and labor of installation. “Having our retail partners be involved and work with us in their local communities to donate their own dollars to install floors is huge,” said Lippman.

Since its founding in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar donated to HFOT has gone directly to its program services for Veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the Veteran chooses to live across the country, and continues its relationship with the veterans after home delivery.
