Cersaie, the world’s largest tile trade show, reported record numbers September 26 to 30 in Bologna, Italy, of more than 106,000—almost 5,000 more visitors than in 2015. Show management reported growth in numbers of both Italian and international visitors, with the latter exceeding 50,000 for the first time in Cersaie’s history.

The show hosted 852 exhibitors from 43 different countries. Nearly one-third of the total exhibitors, or 335, were from outside of Italy. Ceramic tile accounted for the most exhibitors with 491 companies (including 237 from outside of Italy), followed by bathroom furnishings with 194 companies.

Show management said that the strong economy in a number of international markets fueled attendance growth, including a recovery in numbers of Italian visitors after several years of stagnation (a 3.8% increase in 2016 to a total of 55,623) and a continued rise in international visitors (an increase of 5.7% to 50,976 in 2016).
