I4F, a group of companies providing patents and technologies to the flooring industry, launched its water-resistant, one-piece, drop-lock flooring installation system. Used for installation of laminate and engineered wood flooring,  I4F’s new system, i-Click4U (impermeable-Click4U), complements the company’s Click4U technology and has exceeded all North American Laminate Flooring Association requirements relating to water resistant flooring, the company said in a statement. The system has also been independently tested and approved by German and French test institutes.

The company said i-Click4U technology eliminates the need for chemical sprays or additional sealing substances, like wax or paraffin, normally required to prevent water leaking into flooring panel joints.

Eddy Boucké, I4F’s chief technology officer said, “It means the best of both worlds: proven water resistant flooring combined with the world’s easiest and fastest installation system. Additionally, manufacturers can use their existing machinery to produce the new profile.”

"I-Click4U is a real game changer for laminate and engineered wood flooring manufacturers as they can now accelerate their offerings in this fast-growing sector without incurring costly changes to their existing production lines," said John Rietveldt, I4F’s CEO.
