Don Finkell has announced his retirement from Shaw Industries, effective February 28, to pursue several personal interests. Don came to Shaw Industries in 2007, as President and CEO of Anderson Hardwood, at the time of Shaw’s acquisition of Anderson. Anderson has had a unique and storied history as a hardwood and wood flooring company since the 1940s. Don led Anderson as a visionary and innovator himself for more than three decades, and the acquisition of Anderson and the talents of Don and his Anderson team played a critical role in building Shaw’s successful hardwood business.  Don has helped put in place what Shaw considers to be the most talented team in the hardwood industry, from manufacturing to product development to sales and marketing.

Don stated, “Obviously it is difficult to leave something that has been such a big part of my life.  However, I take comfort in knowing that the values of superior quality, inspiring design and environmental sustainability are deeply embedded in the organization. Having this management team in place will lead both Anderson and Shaw Hardwood to even greater heights in the future.  For me, I look forward to pursuing other interests, such as my work with the Hardwood Federation and getting to know my grandchildren better.”

Vance Bell stated, “We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Don through his role in the Hardwood Federation, as well as his personal friendships with many people within Shaw.  We are grateful for Don’s service, his leadership at Shaw, and his lasting contributions to our company.  We wish Don all the best in his new endeavors.”
