The Design Center at the Merchandise Mart and Luxe Interiors + Design magazine are thrilled to announce Cannon Frank was named winner of the Chicago Interior Designer of the Year awards. John Cannon and Cary Frank accepted the award Thursday, February 7 at an elegant Awards Gala held in the North Lobby of the world-famous Merchandise Mart in Chicago. More than 500 trade professionals, industry leaders and design aficionados gathered for the second annual event sponsored by Mercedes-Benz USA and Chicagoland Mercedes-Benz Dealers.

Second runner up, Frank Ponterio of Frank Ponterio Interior Design and first runner up Eva Quateman of Eva Quateman Interiors were also recognized.

“Our goal with the Chicago Interior Designer of the Year awards is to bring recognition to the vast array of design talent in the Chicago-area and honor the many designers who have made an impact in the interior design industry,”said Julia Chappell, Managing Director of Marketing for the Design Center. “This event is quickly becoming a mainstay in Chicago and we are thrilled to award such wonderful designers like Cannon Frank for their work.”

The ten nominees were selected by a jury of Design Center and Luxe Interiors + Design representatives. The nominees also included Larry Boeder of Lawrence Boeder Interior Design, Darcy Bonner of Darcy Bonner and Associates LLC, Susan Fredman of Susan Fredman Design Group, Jessica Lagrange of Jessica Lagrange Interiors LLC, Gary Lee of Gary Lee Partners, Kara Mann of Kara Mann Design, and Carlos Martinez of Gensler.

A lifetime’s study and knowledge of art, design and antiques combined with personal magnetism and warmth have made John Cannon one of Chicago’s most celebrated and admired designers.  With his partner Cary Frank, John has established their firm, Cannon Frank, as a versatile, extraordinarily high-service interior design office.  Their accomplishments have led to awards, articles and esteem; Cannon Frank enjoys a revered reputation among the city’s aesthetically elite.
