LATICRETE, a manufacturer of globally proven construction solutions for the building industry, has been sponsoring 14-year old race car driver, Joey Ternullo. On March 2nd and 3rd, his LATICRETE "Legend" car was showcased at the 54th Annual Frank Maratta's Auto Show and Race-A-Rama, which took place at Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA. It was a major draw.

Ternullo is the son of Joe Ternullo of Middletown Ceramic Tile Company, a firm that has been using LATICRETE materials and methods for over 50 years. At age five, young Ternullo became interested in racing when visiting the Silver City Quarter Midget Club in Meriden, CT with his father. Joey was awestruck and shortly thereafter, Joe Sr. found a car for sale, in which his son would race for the next four years. From there, Joey moved on to a new division with a larger and faster vehicle, a Bandolero. The first year in that division, he took home two wins; the second year, eight. During 2012, Joey Ternullo moved up to an even larger and faster vehicle, a Legend car. This current LATICRETE race car is a 5/8-scale fiberglass, full-fender version of famed NASCAR Modifieds. Driving this 1300 lb vehicle 20 laps around a 3/8-mile track, the teenager has driven his vehicle up to 85 miles per hour.

Joe Ternullo stated, "Middletown Ceramic Tile Co. has been partnering with LATICRETE ever since my father came over from Italy, more than five decades ago. We are so honored to have LATICRETE as Joey's racing sponsor. They have been supportive in every way possible. We couldn't  have asked for a better company. We hope to have many 'LATICRETE Wins' going forward!"

His mother, Jennifer, added, "We're also hoping that when he turns 16 and gets his driver's license, he doesn't go over the speed limits."
