Las Vegas—Attendees at this year’s Surfaces, voted QEP’s 900XT Pro Tile Saw the flooring industry’s Best New Product, among the myriad of introductions featured at the show’s “New Product Marketplace.”

Sponsored by BNP Media’s family of publication, including Floor Trends, Floor Covering Installer, Stone World, Tile, and Contemporary Stone & Tile Design, the New Product Marketplace was a central gathering place for various new products across all industry segments, and allowed attendees the opportunity to see up close how the products worked and to then vote on the one they felt was the best.

Dana Teague, vice president of Hanley Wood, owner of Surfaces, noted, “Seeing the newest industry products consistently ranks high as the No. 1 reason attendees come to The International Surface Event each year. The New Product Marketplace gives attendees the opportunity to see the newest, most innovative and unique products before they hit the market.”

Leonard Gould, QEP’s president, said the 900XT, was “designed from the ground up, and driven by installers. We listened to what they wanted in a saw and to be recognized for our efforts is especially rewarding. We had no desire to knock off others, we wanted to create something that we knew our customers wanted and our product management team obviously got it right.

He added, “To standout in this fashion is a hallmark to what QEP is about.”

Gould noted, the 900XT incorporates “ergonomic design and function while maintaining a rugged all-purpose workhorse that gets the job done.”

In describing the saw, he said it features a powerful 2.25 HP, 15 amp motor that easily cuts through ceramic tile, porcelain and stone. “This saw has a large cutting capacity to perform rip cuts on 24 inch tiles, diagonal cuts on 18 inch tiles, as well as having the ability to cut large tile or pavers up to 3¾-inch thick.”

Plus, the saw features full-coverage splash guards, two side trays and a large rear water containment tray to help minimize overspray, keeping the work area dry and clean. Also, the side extension on the saw table offers maximum support for large format tiles.

The saw comes complete with a premium porcelain-rated 10-inch diamond blade for cutting even the toughest tiles, and the 900XT is designed with a quick-release folding stand and oversized wheels making it easy to transport around the job site.

“These attributes,” Gould said, “coupled with the laser cutting guide, LED work light and the rubber-coated aluminum table to help keep tiles in place, make the rugged QEP 900XT a powerful tile saw with the features that matter most to the tile contractor.”
