fcica mid year
FCICA Mid-Year Meeting attendees toured the H. B. Fuller Construction Products plant in Dalton.

The Flooring Contractors Association (FCICA) reported a record number of attendees at its recent Mid-Year Meeting—Managing Your Profits. FCICA Platinum and Gold members sponsored the event.

Held in Chattanooga, Tenn., the event kicked off with a tour of H.B. Fuller Construction Products’ plant in nearby Dalton.

Highlights of this year’s meeting included the four educational sessions—Managing On-site Conditions, presented by Tom Lutz of INSTALL Michigan; Managing Materials on the Jobsite, presented by JR Allred of Dalton Carpet One; Managing Change Orders, presented by Mike Newberry of Inside Edge Commercial Interior Services, and Practical Applications for Wood Flooring in the Commercial Market, presented by Brett Miller of the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA). In addition, FCICA held various committee and board meetings, including the Installation Manager Taskforce, which met to continue development of the Certified Installation Manager (CIM) program.

Kelly Fuller, FCICA’s director of education, said the association’s “commitment to education for our members was evident at this year’s Mid-Year sessions. Not only did we capture three more information loaded modules in the CIM Program, we were also fortunate enough to have Brett Miller from NWFA to educate us on wood flooring.”

FCICA’s Events mobile app was also unveiled at the event. “The app was a huge success,” said Sarah Bays, membership and website coordinator, “and we are very pleased with the compliments we received regarding it and overall usage from the attendees. We would also like to thank FLEXCO for sponsoring it.”
