J+J’s Kinetex collection was the winner of Buildings magazine’s Product Innovations award.

J+J Flooring Group’s Kinetex is the grand prize winner in the flooring solutions category of Buildings magazine’s annual Product Innovations award.

Kinetex was selected over several other entries for what the magazine said are its “innovative qualities that support the efficiency and sustainability of commercial buildings.” Editors examined entries for sustainability, performance and maintenance attributes to find the best facility management solutions.

Specific qualities mentioned by the magazine in its feature of Kinetex include soft-surface flooring attributes that combine with long-wearing performance characteristics of a hard-surface flooring product; the flexibility to simply remove and replace individual modules if conditions warrant a quick fix; 55% recycled content; NSF/ANSI 140 platinum certification and ease of cleaning and maintenance.

“Kinetex offers numerous advantages to facility managers and specifiers across several markets. This award further validates that and the innovative solutions we’re bringing to the marketplace,” said Keith Gray, J+J Flooring's director of product innovation

The Counterbalance Collection is the most recent Kinetex introduction. Comprised of three products—Pop, Propel and Flash—the collection’s 24-inch modules offer patterns, colors and accents that work collaboratively to define and separate spaces and create wayfinding.

Named one of Environmental Building News’ Top 10 Green Building Products of 2014, Kinetex has 50% lower environmental impact, according to the company.

Along with being NSF 140 Platinum certified, Kinetix meets the Carpet & Rug Institute’s Green Label Plus for low indoor air emissions.
