Scott Roy has been appointed president and CEO of Gilford•Johnson Flooring.

Roy succeeds Dennis Cook, who will be retiring from the daily function of this position at the end of March. Cook is assisting Roy with the transition and integration process until then.

“We welcome Scott’s experience and leadership to the Gilford•Johnson family,” said Cook. “In his new role as president and CEO, he will be responsible for overseeing the newly merged Gilford and Johnson Wholesale, which brings together two quality-oriented organizations under an experienced leadership team of industry veterans. His results oriented approach and experience in our industry will play a pivotal role in continuing our growth and innovation.”

Roy has spent close to 30 years in the floor covering and window treatment industries. He began his career with Armstrong World Industries in 1986 and spent 14 years in various sales and marketing assignments. He left in 1999 to become the national director of sales for an independent Hunter Douglas fabricator, Elmar Window Fashions. Roy joined J.J. Haines & Co. in 2005 as vice president, sales. In 2012, he assumed the position of vice president of sales and marketing and customer service, and in 2014, was appointed senior vice president–Armstrong sales and marketing, and Haines customer service.

“I can’t think of a more exciting time to join Gilford•Johnson,” said Roy. “With the recent merger of Gilford and Johnson, we now have two great companies joining forces to provide outstanding products, services and value to our customers. I look forward to working with Blue Equity, the Gilford•Johnson team, suppliers and customers. I’m ready for an exciting adventure.”
