The Professional Retail Store Maintenance Association (PRSM) has released its Best Practices book of retail facilities management (FM) case studies to help the industry improve the bottom line at retail stores, by strategically driving efficiencies through effective retail facilities maintenance business practices.

This year’s compilation includes case studies from more than 50 suppliers and retailers, including Nike, Gap and Stage Stores as well as suppliers such as Regency Lighting, ServiceNational Canada, Rentokil North America and Low Slope Solutions.

This year’s publication features 51 case studies that cover more than 20 different categories including janitorial, pest control, building automation systems and electrical and lighting. Several of the best practices in this year’s book focused on energy efficiency and how automated systems are revolutionizing the retail facilities management industry.

“The publication exemplifies what can happen when facility management professionals share their knowledge, case studies and processes,” said Patricia Dameron, executive director of PRSM. “PRSM is appreciative of this year’s sponsor, Rentokil North America, for recognizing the value of this year’s edition.”

Randolph Carter, vice president of marketing, North America for Rentokil, said, “The facilities management industry continues to evolve in part because FM Leaders share and implement new best practices. We are proud to support the PRSM Best Practices publication as it provides an avenue for these essential practices and case studies to be shared.”
