Export, Pa. – Three flooring collections by Karndean Designflooring, a manufacturer of luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring, have been recognized by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design with a 2018 Good Design Award – Knight Tile and Opus gluedown ranges and the Korlok Reserve rigid core range. The annual awards program recognizes the most innovative, bold and cutting-edge products produced around the world. The three collections encompass all the company’s new product introductions in 2018.
Knight Tile
New visuals within the Knight Tile gluedown collection are modern interpretations of traditional European and Australian woods and stones. These designs capture the influence of Scandinavian style flooring, the clean linear grain pattern of Australian Spotted Gum, and honed and riven slates developed from pieces of hand-selected stone in England’s renowned Lake District. The new Knight Tile woods are available in 36” x 6” planks and the two new stones are sized 12” x 18”. Both feature a 12-mil wear layer, lifetime residential warranty and 10-year commercial warranty.
Opus
Among the new designs added to the contemporary Opus gluedown collection are American black walnuts and unique mixed materials. The American black walnut visuals offer all the characteristics of authentic walnut in a durable luxury vinyl. From the classic rich brown color of Natural Walnut to the hybrid abstract visual Textum, designers and homeowners have plenty of options to complement their vision. New Opus planks are sized 36” x 6” and the new stone is sized 12” x 18”; both feature a 20-mil wear layer, lifetime residential warranty and 15-year commercial warranty.
