Valspar Names Warm Eucalyptus Its 2026 Color of the Year

Valspar has unveiled Warm Eucalyptus 8004-28F as its official 2026 Color of the Year, selecting a nature-inspired green shade that the company says reflects consumers' growing desire for calm and comfort in their living spaces.
The soft, muted green with warm undertones represents a shift toward more grounding design choices as homeowners and renters seek to create personal sanctuaries amid an increasingly fast-paced world, according to Valspar executives.
"Warm Eucalyptus is more than just a beautiful shade of green, it's a reflection of the comfort we crave in our homes," said Sue Kim, director of color marketing at Valspar. "Its warm undertones create a grounded, welcoming mood while drawing inspiration from nature and the familiarity of retro design. This is a color that encourages restoration and resilience."
The color selection comes as interior design trends increasingly emphasize emotional well-being and nostalgic elements. Valspar positioned Warm Eucalyptus as meeting consumer demands for "nostalgic joy and comfort," channeling vintage color palettes and playful color-blocking techniques.
