Staffers and executives of distributor Elias Wilf at Mannington's fundraising "Jeans Day," Proceeds from the event went to the Stand on a Better World scholarship fund.

Mannington has expanded its Stand on a Better World Awards program to include a scholarship fund. The company plans to award $500 scholarships to five qualifying students from high schools in the Salem County, N.J. area where Mannington is based.

"Mannington has always been a company that cares about the community it calls home," said Betsy Amoroso, a spokeswoman for the company. "This scholarship is designed to recognize and reward students in the county who share this philosophy."

Interested students are encouraged to apply online. The scholarships are being funded by donations from Mannington's associates and business partners and events such as a "Jeans Day," that enabled Mannington staffers to wear jeans on Mondays in exchange for a $5 donation. Recently, distributor Elias Wilf gave a sizable donation to the fund, Mannington says.
