India White, co-manager and buyer for Bradford’s of Nashville, Tenn., recently received the keys to a brand-new Mini Cooper automobile. The veteran AmericasMart-Atlanta area rug retailer won the vehicle as part of the “Cover New Ground: Shop the Area Rug Floors” promotion.
During the July 2003 Atlanta International Area Rug Market, area rug and home furnishings retailers were encouraged to enter the promotion to win a two-year lease on a Mini Cooper. Moments before White’s name was drawn, Jeffrey L. Portman, president of AmericasMart-Atlanta parent AMC Inc., decided to give full ownership of the vehicle to the winner rather than a two-year lease.
