Walter Thoulionhas joinedW.F. Tayloras district sales manager for the Northwest region, including Northern California and Nevada.

Johnsonite has tapped Dan Meleski as its new manager of marketing support, and appointed Kenneth D. Elkins and Richard P. Gale as territory sales managers for the company. Elkins manages distribution of Johnsonite products throughout the Florida region, and Gale is charged with servicing the nation's Upper Midwest region, including Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. Meleski, who has spent his entire career with Johnsonite, is responsible for managing the company's sample department and oversight of all trade show planning and activities.

James K. Morandohas been named to replaceUlf Mattssonas president ofHarris Tarkett. Prior to joining the company, Morando served as vice president of sales with Levolor Home Fashions, and worked for 13 years in a variety of sales and marketing positions at Congoleum Corp.

Diane Martel
Domcohas elevated 12-year company veteranDiane Martelto the newly created post of vice president of marketing. Formerly Domco's residential marketing manager, Martel is now responsible for directing all marketing efforts for the company's Azrock, Nafco and Domco brands through residential, commercial and national account groups.

Cherokee Carpet Industries has appointed Larry Smith to the newly created post of vice president of business development. Smith, a three-year veteran of the company, most recently served as national sales manager of Cherokee's Eastgate Carpet division.

Also, Cherokee named Dan Haglund vice president of sales for its Southwind Carpet Mills subsidiary. Haglund has been with Cherokee for one year as vice president of sales for the company's Eastgate Carpets division.

Alice Jorgensen
Crossville Porcelain Stone/USAhas namedAlice Jorgensenits new vice president, residential sales. A 30-year veteran of the floor covering industry, Jorgensen is responsible for bringing coordination and focus to Crossville's sales team in the residential market. Prior to joining Crossville, she served as vice president of hard surfaces for a national floor covering buying group.

In addition, Crossville appointed Christine Seaman as residential sales coordinator. Seaman, based in Jacksonville, Fla., will cover the southeastern United States to further Crossville's penetration of retail and residential markets in that region. For the past two years, Seaman has worked as a contractor sales representative and showroom manager for Intercoastal Distributors in Florida.
