Dan Childshas been named eastern regional sales manager forRobbins Premium Hardwood Flooring.In his new position, Childs is responsible for sales and marketing of Robbins products on the eastern seaboard, from Maine to Florida. Childs joined the company in 1995 as manager of inside sales. In 1999, he was honored as Robbins’ Employee of the Year.

Custom Building Products has promoted Diane Wood to senior product manager. Wood is charged with managing both TileLab tile and stone care products and the Polyblend Colored Tile Grout product line. She will develop, position and add new products to these lines, and review mature products for repositioning or remerchandising. A four-year employee of the company, Wood has played key roles in the launch of TileLab products and the creation of a new corporate product development process through Total Quality Management team.

Brian C. Knies has been appointed president of Standard Tile Distributors and its TileAmerica! retail division. Knies previously served as vice president of sales & marketing. He replaces Jack Knies, who remains with the company as chairman of the board.

Robert Whitney has joined PermaGrain Products as regional sales manager for the Midwest and metropolitan New York City areas. In his new position, Whitney will work closely with PermaGrain’s local representatives and distributors to present the company’s SmartFlooring product line to the design community throughout his territory.

Oriental Weavers of America has appointed Blake Hill national accounts manager. He is responsible for servicing the Expo Design Center and all buying groups. Hill has been with Oriental Weavers since 1999 in sales and marketing support.

Jack Rooke has joined SI Corp. as director of marketing for SI Flooring Systems. He is responsible for marketing efforts related to new product development for SI Flooring Systems. Headquartered in Calhoun, Ga., Rooke joins SI after working at Dupont Corp. for more than two decades.

Eliane Ceramic Tiles USA Inc. has appointed Sarah Barbour to Corporate Accounts, with responsibility for developing Eliane’s 2001 Architecture Program and Corporate Accounts for Design Centers. Barbour, whose background includes a B.S. in Business Management and Interior Design from a Brazilian university, will be based at Eliane’s USA headquarters in Dallas.
