Armstrong World Industries has instituted a raft of changes to its management and organizational structures in its attempt to better meet customer, shareholder and employee needs. Topping the list of changes was the promotion of former Senior Vice President and CFO Frank A. Riddick to the position of executive vice president and chief operating officer.

In addition, E. Follin Smith, who previously served the company as vice president and treasurer, has been elevated to the posts of senior vice president and CFO. Also, Senior Vice President of Human Resources Douglas L. Boles has been promoted to executive vice president.

Armstrong has also instituted an Office of the Chairman, led by Chairman and CEO George A. Lorch, to facilitate and manage change across the company’s lines of business and functional areas.
