DuPont, the world’s largest recycler of nylon, introduced a high-recycled content Antron nylon at the recent NeoCon show as a reflection of its overall environmental strategy. The company has also announced science-based solutions to decrease the environmental footprint of nylon along its entire value chain.

An “environmental footprint” refers to a product’s total impact on the environment. DuPont’s definition of the term includes, among other things, accidental releases into the environment; the impact of fires, global waste and emissions; the use of depletable raw materials and energy; and injuries and illnesses to employees and contractors. DuPont said it will continue to address its environmental responsibility by focusing on how its products are manufactured, maintaining its rank as the largest nylon recycler in the world, continuing to introduce high-recycled and durable products, and providing environmental education resources for architects and designers.
