International Designer Transitions, a Washington State floor moldings maker, has opened a new plant in Graham, N.C., at 1201 Jay Lane. John Damrell, director of sales and marketing, says the company plans to manufacture a full line of hardwood, laminate, veneer and metal transitions and moldings from the location.

"This is an extremely exciting time for the company," he said. "We now have a manufacturing presence on the East Coast and will be able to give our partners better service and lower costs."

The 52,000 square foot building sits on five acres along Interstate 40. The proximity to a major highway is one of the advantages of the new plant, said Tom Laitala, director of production. In addition, "the UV equipment, vacuum coaters and laminating equipment will allow us to give unsurpassed value to our customers," he noted.
