Construction crews expanding Couristan’s Dalton, Ga.-based distribution center.


Couristan says a significant increase in its overall business has prompted an expansion of the area rug maker’s distribution center in Dalton, Ga. by 50 percent. The expansion project, which is expected to be finished by the end of this month, will bring the facility to a total of 238,000 square feet.

The company also plans to add the latest IBM iSeries mainframe to handle the increased volume more efficiently. It also is set to upgrade its managerial software to include the integration of radio frequency scanners.
