FCICA installs program for tile techniques, training
The Flooring Contractors
Association (FCICA) now offers a tile curriculum as part of its FIT
Floorcovering Installation Training program. Packaged with an instruction
binder, two student guides, and the 2007 TCA Handbook, the FIT Tile Program
aims to offer “an in-house training program for installers, salespeople and
product managers,” according to the group.
Christopher Capobianco, FCICA’s chairman, said the new program will help keep members up to date on the latest tools and techniques. “While this will not replace programs already in place from other organizations, these books and the reference manual will be a great addition to the available training programs in the industry,” he said.
Kimberley Oderkirk, exec vp of the FCICA, said the program combines industry knowledge from a number of trade groups with FIT-specific content. “Due to the generosity of the NTCA and Education Foundation, we didn’t need to reinvent the wheel; we were able to use their program and update a few items to meet the FIT program guidelines,” she noted.
