GREENGUARD’S virtual house tour aims to identify common household products and materials that can lead to indoor air pollution.

The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute has launched an interactive, virtual house tour online at www.greenguard.org/en/consumers.aspx. The website allows users to take a virtual walkthrough of a family residence while learning about common sources of indoor air pollution.

“Indoor air quality is one of those concepts that can be difficult to get your head around because it seems so abstract,” said Henning Bloech, GEI’s exec director. “By creating this animated home tour, we hope to bring the concept of indoor air quality to life and make it more relatable to the consumer.”

The virtual, two-story home features a fully equipped kitchen, living room, den, bathroom, master bedroom, nursery, and a basement being refurnished. Once a user enters a room, he or she can scroll over various common household products and materials to learn more about chemical emissions and other sources of indoor air pollution.
