The world’s most stylish basketball court recently opened in Brixton, London. The Regal features a striking Junckers Black-oiled Beech Sports Floor, gold rimmed baskets, LED lighting, smoked glass back stops and street art on the walls. Who says that sports flooring should look boring? Certainly not Junckers, one of the world’s largest producers of prefinished solid hardwood flooring for residential, commercial and sport applications. As a supplier of more than 1 billion square feet of solid hardwood flooring, including sports flooring for the 2012 Olympics, Junckers is familiar with high profile projects. The flooring supplied to The Regal in London, however, was unique and extraordinary.

In association with the World Basketball Festival in Brixton, Nike, who sponsored the event, wanted to leave a powerful and lasting image in the city, which would inspire the young basketball players of the future. The state-of-the-art court was opened in style with an appearance from Chicago Bulls NBA Star Luol Deng, who grew up in Brixton.

The goal for The Regal is to become the new home of London Basketball, acting as both a place to develop talent and as a setting for major matches. For this reason, the court is open to everyone from curious beginners to elite professionals.
