Mike Glavin of City Floor Supply—formerly Philadelphia Floor Store (PFS)—will speak on disaster recovery at the National Wood Flooring Association’s (NWFA) Wood Flooring Expo, taking place April 27 through 30, in Charlotte, N.C.

Glavin will share his recent experience overcoming a devastating fire that leveled his company’s headquarters and distribution center. Thankfully no one was injured. However, the company did suffer immeasurable losses in terms of inventory and operating equipment. Even in the wake of such disaster, the Glavin family was able to get their company back up and running within days.

“I’m beyond thankful that we had such a solid disaster recovery plan in place,” said Glavin. “Had that not been the case, we would have had to cash in our losses and say goodbye to a business that was 25 years in the making. We’ve learned so much these past 10 months and feel it’s our obligation to pass that knowledge on to contractors and other small business owners to help them avoid some of the common (and not so common) pitfalls related to insurance coverage and disaster recovery.”
