3M’s Scotchgard celebrates 50 years

Fifty years ago, 3M introduced a family of stain-repelling products under the Scotchgard brand. Today, Scotchgard Protectors range from products to protect upholstery to products that protect vinyl and leather.

Scotchgard also offers cleaner for Rugs & Carpets, which is designed to remove stains and spots from high-traffic areas, rugs, floor mats, entryway carpeting, and vehicle flooring.

Scotchgard Protector and Stain Release labels on the back of new carpet samples mean that built-in, mill-applied Scotchgard protector has been added to the carpet. The protective treatments have been specifically designed for various fiber types and are incorporated into a carpet for maximum penetration and lasting protection, according to 3M.
