In Floor Trends’ “2014 Industry Study,” respondents said when it comes to resilient flooring, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) and planks were the “top product type sold” at 95% while sheet goods came in at 87%. As we move into 2015 this trend of the luxury vinyl category being retailers’ go-to choice of resilient flooring clearly looks to be continuing based on early indications from the industry’s winter markets.
With so many dealers on board in this area, and so many new products and companies entering the category, the question becomes: How can retailers profitably sell LVT in such a competitive market?
