J+J Flooring's Kinetex products, Umbra and Umbra Stripe, have been named a Product Finalist in the flooring-hard surface category of Interior Design magazine’s Best of Year awards. The products were listed as finalists after being selected by interior designers and architects via an online vote in October.

Separately, the company’s zero waste to landfill achievement, the first in the floor covering industry, is a finalist in the environmental and sustainability category for the Mixology North Awards, a U.K.-based awards program that celebrates the dynamic and innovative interior design community.

The winners for both awards will be announced Thursday, Dec. 3, during separate gala events in New York City and in Manchester, U.K.

Umbra and Umbra Stripe are 18 x 36-inch modular planks with a textile composite flooring that combines the best attributes of soft and hard-surface flooring. Kinetex’s unique construction creates unparalleled acoustic performance and superior comfort. As a slip resistant flooring, it aids in reducing potential slip and fall injuries, according to the company. It is also highly durable, resists staining agents and sequesters airborne allergens and irritants.
