In an industry where excellence meets innovation, the annual Top Flooring Products Awards have emerged as the definitive showcase of groundbreaking achievements in flooring design and technology. Now in its second year, this prestigious reader-driven competition celebrates the most remarkable products that have transformed the flooring landscape between June 2023 and June 2024.

A Voice for the Industry

What sets these awards apart is their unique approach to recognition: the winners are chosen directly by the flooring community itself. Through Floor Trends & Installation’s democratic voting process, industry retailers, manufacturers, contractors, and design experts come together to identify and celebrate the products that have significantly impacted their daily operations and project outcomes. The awards not only recognize excellence but also serve as a barometer for industry trends and innovations that will shape the future of flooring.

Celebrating Innovation Across Categories

The 2024 awards reflect an industry in constant evolution, where manufacturers and distributors are pushing boundaries in multiple directions:

  • Sustainability Innovations: New manufacturing processes and materials that minimize environmental impact while maximizing performance
  • Design Excellence: Cutting-edge aesthetic approaches that blend form with function
  • Installation Advancements: Smart solutions that improve efficiency and durability
  • Quality Improvements: Enhanced product performance and longevity through technological breakthroughs

A Digital-First Competition

In a departure from traditional industry awards, the Top Flooring Products competition embraces modern marketing dynamics. Participating companies were encouraged to leverage their digital presence and creativity to engage voters, creating compelling campaigns highlighting their products' unique value propositions.

For manufacturers, distributors and technology providers across residential and commercial segments, this competition represents more than just an award – it's an opportunity to showcase their commitment to advancing the industry through innovation, sustainability, communications and design excellence.

QPay Now & Surcharging Features by QFloors

Previously, QFloors rolled out QPay credit card processing, which provides flooring dealers low rates and integration with their QFloors system. However, new advanced features have been introduced, including the ability to send “pay now” buttons and links via email or display them on websites and landing pages, so that they can pay online. Additionally, QPay’s new surcharging feature enables dealers to legally pass credit card processing fees onto customers using the card.

QPay’s Pay Now buttons have made the payment process easier than ever for both dealers and customers. They have proven to boost close rates, due to the fact that customers can now make a payment on their own time using their phone or computer. Dealers love this feature because they don’t have to play phone tag and chase customers down to get paid. It integrates with QFloors’ payments, customer accounts, and leads screens, and automatically posts approved payments to save time and eliminate manual entry.

Honorable Mention: Area Rugs
Trina Turk x FLOR by Interface

The Trina Turk X FLOR collection is an immersive area rug collaboration bringing together two brands committed to supporting their customers and creating beautiful, on-trend designs. The collaboration was born out of both FLOR’s and Trina Turk’s shared love for midcentury modern design. Featuring five unique products, the collection is a nod to the ready-to-wear designer’s signature archival prints and versatile patterns, now reflected in FLOR’s unique carpet tile concept.

The collaboration began when FLOR traveled to Trina’s California-based design studio and explored her vintage closet, sourcing patterns, colors, and textures that would then be reflected in the collection. Each product in the collection features bold, bright colors and patterns reminiscent of radiating sunbeams, geometric stripes, and breeze block motifs.

Products like Here Comes the Sun and Twin Palms embrace the designer’s classic aesthetic while adding a midcentury modern edge with bright colorways and unique patterns. Meanwhile, California Dreaming, Racquet Club, and Spiral Out add dimension and movement to any space with patterns inspired by cane-weaving styles, classic trellises, and spiraled lines. Paired with Trina’s versatile style, these carpet tile products are customizable, simple to install, and made to fit any interior space.

Top Flooring for 2024

LEROY BROWN
December 11, 2024
I noticed Tarkett had several products in the Top Flooring for 2024 and we had not had good experiences dealing with Tarkett's Lexmark division. They were picked by and architect to do a custom carpet for one of our long term clients and one of the carpet that they recommended for the corridors had a 6' pattern repeat in the width. When we received the goods and started installing it was apparent that it would not work when the corridors widen to over 6' because it looked like a badly mismatched seam in the goods right in the middle. The rep and the person at the mill that did the layout on the plans should have know it but it was obvious they didn't so we ended up with several rolls that we couldn't us and had to order the custom that we used in the lobbies to use in the wider spots in the corridors. We also had a lot of their powerbond goods that was made by C&A but they took over C&A and don't even use their name anymoreas far as I know, but the padding that was applied at the plant was bad and we lost material that we couldn't use. All they wanted to give our client was $10,000 for the trouble and it cost them nearly $50,000 our client said to just pay them off and sent us the money. We fought with Tarkett for several months until they agreed to write of the $50,000 we were holding on them and we sent it back to our client who we have an open book cost plus agreement with. The director of facilities said he was glad my wife was on their side and couldn't believe we won with Tarkett and saved them the $50,000. Needless to say we do not recommend Tarkett products to our clients and they have no idea that we do $300,000+ a year with one of the mills that has taken good care of us for several years.
