Karndean Designflooring, a global supplier of commercial and residential luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring, pleased to announce the official grand opening of its recently expanded US headquarters on September 27 in the Pittsburgh suburb of Export, PA.

With the completion of the project, which doubled the size of their facility, Karndean has proudly created a beautiful showroom and model distribution center to support the needs of its US business. The grand opening festivities will begin at 4:00 pm with tours of the newly expanded warehouse, showroom, production facilities, and samples department. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 5:00 pm. The event also will include product, designflooring and installation demonstrations.

“Since breaking ground on the project in late 2014, we have greatly anticipated the day when our vision would become reality,” said Larry Browder, CEO. “I am proud to say that this project has achieved everything we had hoped, and more. Thanks to the hard work of everyone who helped in the development and construction of the building, our ability to support the needs of our customers is stronger than ever. We look forward to sharing this celebration with all those who have helped us along the way.”

The expansion has bolstered all levels of Karndean’s business. An expansive new warehouse addition doubles Karndean’s already unmatched inventory capabilities, further positioning Karndean to provide unparalleled product availability and meet customers’ demands across the United States within a few days.

Cutting-edge lighting technology and daylight harvesting in the warehouse underscores Karndean’s dedication to environmental stewardship. The redesigned facility also includes flow-through shipping and receiving, which helps to streamline operations.

An in-house production department is another facet that sets the facility apart. Karndean employs a skilled team that cuts and packages certain products in house. Fundamental marketing materials including premium point of sale samples, and consumer take home samples also are produced on site. “The Karndean Brand is synonymous with quality, so it is imperative that our samples reflect that same premium image,” said Browder. “Producing our own samples on site allows us to do just that.”

The project also included a redesigned showroom. Featuring Karndean’s entire product portfolio, a specifier’s library for commercial projects, and spectacular designs, the showroom embodies the endless possibilities of designflooring. “This showroom has been designed as a value-added service to our retail and commercial partners here in the Pittsburgh area,” said Browder. “It is here as a design resource for them to use with their customers to create beautiful designflooring.”
