Patcraft, a brand of Shaw Industries, announced the promotion of Shannon Cochran to vice president of creative and product development.

Cochran brings with her more than two decades of flooring industry expertise and a reputation for pioneering product design and innovation leadership. Most recently, Cochran led product design and innovation as the design director for Shaw Contract’s Corporate Design Studio, overseeing some of the studio’s most celebrated styles, including broadloom, tile and hard surface collections.

Cochran replaces Pam Rainey, who was recently promoted to vice president of residential hard surface product design for Shaw Industries. “As we envisioned Patcraft’s future potential, we identified the need for a leader well-equipped to guide our design team further, stretch our innovation limits and continue to broaden our minds to the expanding performance potential of commercial flooring,” said Brenda Knowles, vice president of marketing at Shaw Industries. “We are extremely pleased to welcome Shannon Cochran to the Patcraft team.

As design director with Shaw Contract’s Corporate Design Studio, including the brand’s workplace and education segments, Cochran led product design and innovation. She worked closely with marketing and manufacturing teams to launch a variety of products, including a range of award-winning collections. As a key team member, Cochran’s leadership and collaboration helped Shaw Contract earn 18 Best of NeoCon awards.

Known for its leadership and innovation in designing award-winning flooring products that transform the performance of the space, Patcraft’s addition of Cochran to the design team will further advance the brand’s effort to create new solutions to meet customer needs.

“Shannon will bring a wealth of creative, thoughtful design expertise to further heighten the Patcraft brand,” said Jeff West, vice president of marketing for Patcraft. “We are looking forward to welcoming her unique vision and distinguished expectation for innovative approaches to product performance and design.”

Cochran graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in family and consumer science with a major in textiles, merchandising, and interior design.  Prior to Cochran’s time with Shaw Industries, she spent eight years with J&J as a senior designer. Today, she is considered an expert in color and trend research within the commercial flooring space and recently spoke on a panel discussing women in leadership during NeoCon 2016. Cochran is an active community leader in Shaw’s Women’s Innovation Network (WiN).

“This is an empowering time of product evolution and performance leadership for Patcraft,” said Cochran. “As we bridge the gaps between function, style and performance, we will further tap Patcraft’s talented design teams to uphold and refine Patcraft’s reputation for product development excellence.”
