Tom Gysens has been appointed as the new chief financial officer for Balta Group, a producer of textile coverings in Europe with eight production facilities worldwide. 

He will join the Balta Group Management Committee on Dec. 1, and he will work with Carl Verstraelen on a smooth transition by the end of 2016.

Gysens started his career in Audit with PricewaterhouseCoopers before joining Beaulieu International Group as group controller in 2004. He was Beaulieu’s CFO and Group Executive Committee member for the last eight years.

He succeeds Carl Verstraelen who successfully led the finance and IT department for seven-and-a-half years. Verstraelen can look back at a 40-year career as CEO or CFO of Amylum Group, Lhoist Group and Agfa Healthcare before joining Balta. He will now continue to be a member of various supervisory boards.
