Marcus Palm, Välinge director of legal affairs, was awarded Swedish In-House Legal Counsel of the Year during Bolagsjuristernas Förening’s (BJF) spring meeting. The In-House Legal Counsel of the year award—a collaboration between BJF, law firm Vinge and business journal Affärsvärlden—was established five years ago with the purpose to recognize the importance of legal counselors in the business sector. The 2017 award went to Palm for his ability to combine commercial interests with complex and challenging legal practices at a rapidly growing company based on innovation, patenting, and licensing. The jury also emphasized the combination of profound knowledge in IP and strategic work which has made Palm a vital asset for his company’s business development and risk management.

“We are dependent on having the best players in our team to ensure every step in the development, industrialization and commercialization of our technologies,” said Niclas Håkansson, CEO. “We must have a strong and professional team with legal and market expertise in order to make sure our licensees’ businesses are not harmed by unlicensed infringing. We are obviously very proud that Mr. Palm got this award and we take it as a proof that Välinge operates at the highest standard in the business”.
