Mohawk received two product design awards during NYCxDESIGN. Mohawk’s Moonscapes broadloom carpet product earned the NYCxDESIGN award in the flooring category and Homegrown received a #metropolislikes award.

“Receiving these two prestigious awards at NYCxDESIGN is a validation of our commitment to developing the best in product design, and we’re extremely honored to be recognized by the architecture and design community for the passion that goes into these products,” said Jackie Dettmar, vice president of design and product development for Mohawk.

Presented by Interior Design magazine and the International Contemporary Furniture Fair, the NYCxDESIGN Awards is a global design competition celebrating achievement across major areas of design. The winner and honorees were reviewed by a panel of thirty judges, and winners were announced at a live in a ceremony and celebration at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Moonscapes is a tufted broadloom carpet designed in collaboration with Austrian design firm 13&9. The patterns create a sculptural impression of the abstracted moon surface. Utilizing Mohawk’s patented Synthesis technology, color gradients layer atop a textured base and create a three-dimensional carpet.

Presented by the editors of Metropolis magazine, #metropolislikes is a social media-based award program that recognizes emerging design trends and innovation at design industry events such as NYCxDESIGN.

Homegrown, part of Mohawk’s Karastan line, merges classic construction with texture, providing a sensory aesthetic that brings the comforts of home into the workplace without compromising the performance expected of a contract flooring.
