Livingston, N.J. -- Summit International Flooring (SIF) dropped off an toys for the children in the Child Life Department at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J. The company hosted a donation drive November 16 to December 5 at its corporate office in Whippany, N.J.

The Child Life Department is dedicated to making children feel comfortable during their stay at Saint Barnabas Hospital. In a hospital where children are separated from most of what is familiar, play and activities become valuable and safe outlets for feelings. Although toy donations are more frequent during the holiday season, The Child Life Staff carefully selects appropriate personalized gifts for their children year-round.

“The amount of donations we received for this toy drive was astounding,” said David Numark, president and CEO of Summit International Flooring. “Although we knew we would be able to count on our friends and families to help donate, we were pleasantly surprised by how many business partners and community members also contributed. Having a child in the hospital during anytime of the year is hard enough. But I can only imagine that hardship grows immensely during the holiday season. Therefore, we wanted do something that would hopefully help families have one less thing to worry about.”
