FCI Editorial Director Jon Namba has taken on a new responsibility with the magazine—a monthly blog on fcimag.com, sponsored by Bostik. With the installation industry continuing to move at a rapid pace via new technologies, tools and techniques, the “What Would Namba Do?” blog will share Namba’s unique insights as a professional contractor and industry educator. The new blog will be featured on the homepage, and archived posts can be viewed here.

Namba said he is looking forward to the new format to share his ideas and answer questions from professionals in the industry. “I’m very excited to have more interaction with contractors—sharing what they’re dealing with day-to-day and letting their voices be heard. I want this is be a blog where professionals in all areas of flooring and tile can get the information they need,” he stated.

Namba added that being able to provide concise, timely answers to industry issues will give FCI readers another resource to become better at their business. “The blog format will give us even more chances to respond to questions and comments. Not everybody uses social media platforms to interact, and not everyone wants to type out a long e-mail, so this gives readers another way to get in touch.”

Namba has decades of experience in the industry as an independent consultant, trainer and speaker. He recently completed a term as the president of the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) Certified Professionals, and has previously held positions as director of technical services for the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) and executive director of the International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association (CFI).
