Dumfries, Va. -- Shaw Sports Turf announced sponsorship of the Ali Krieger Football Camps (AKFC) based in Arlington, Va. Events like these camps are an opportunity for increased involvement with the community. The Shaw Sports Turf vision is to be “More than a Field” to customers and partners alike because relationships formed are important long after the products are installed.

The camps will kick off at The Ali Krieger Sports Complex at Potomac Shores on July 28. Complete with new Shaw Sports Turf soccer fields, the 29.7 acre sports complex and the camps are named after soccer star Ali Krieger, an area native and member of the 2015 winning Women’s World Cup team.

The Ali Krieger Football Camps are launching nationwide and encompass both youth and adult soccer players. Krieger has extensive experience playing soccer professionally in both Europe and the U.S., and has a unique blend of styles and skills to share. All AKFC participants will learn “The Warrior Way” which is the mentality and core values that have helped Krieger achieve success on and off the field. The camps provide curriculum to all ages including leadership, character and confidence-building, these sessions will be led by Ali and guest speakers.

When referring to the partnership Ali Krieger said, “We are grateful to Shaw Sports Turf for their support of AKFC and our inaugural clinic at the Ali Krieger Sports Complex. Their fields are a vital part of this beautiful new facility. They are already being used by the community and that will continue for many years to come.”

"I'm happy that Shaw Sports Turf decided to partner with Ali Krieger Football Camps,” added Andrew Barksdale, Shaw Sports Turf’s territory manager for Virginia. “I love the fact that Ali remembers where she came from and gives back to her hometown. That commitment will make an impact on next generation of players in Prince William County.”
