CALHOUN, GA.—Many Georgia children returning to school this fall were greeted by revamped classrooms and media spaces that have a fresh look, thanks in part to Mohawk Industries and the Georgia United Credit Union School Crashers program.

Mohawk has partnered on the program for the past five years, giving schools much-needed renovations, and School Crashers has provided 33 schools with facility improvements. For the 2018-2019 school year, Mohawk donated commercial broadloom carpet, carpet tile, adhesive and bound area rugs, 40 of which are story-time reading rugs, to six Georgia schools.

“Mohawk supports programs like School Crashers because they bring communities together, and that is an important component of our Believe in Better philosophy,” said Michel Vermette, president of Mohawk Group.

Through the Believe in Better philosophy, Mohawk is committed to pushing boundaries and moving forward in design, sustainability, innovation, project solutions and operational excellence.

“We are committed to improving the standard of living in the communities in which we live and work,” Vermette said. “From our experience in serving the education market, we know that a student’s environment plays an important role in their learning. By partnering with School Crashers, we believe we can help create a better future for Georgia schoolchildren.”
