Washington—Carpet One Floor & Home members traveled from across North America to the Gaylord National Convention Center to attend their annual winter convention. The convention brings together store owners, managers and staff to spend two days working on their business. This year’s convention theme – Together We Work – highlights the ways that members can work together in the cooperative; how Carpet One Floor & Home management can work for, and with, the members; and the action items store owners should be taking to stay ahead of the curve.

During the two-day convention, members will hear about new products, program updates and valuable tools to help them run their businesses. Breakout sessions will allow members to get more in-depth information in a more casual environment than the general sessions. With breakouts focused on product, digital marketing and sales professional training, three important areas of the flooring retail business will be addressed.

This convention is also the official welcome to new president, John Gilbert. While Gilbert has observed a Carpet One Floor & Home convention, this will be his first as the leader of the management team.

“I’m excited for everything the team has prepared for this convention,” Gilbert said. “I’m confident that it will be a worthwhile investment of our members’ time. The topics we are discussing are critical to our members’ business success.”

Members will have ample networking time enabling them to discuss problems, ideas and best practices with like-minded retailers. On the second day of the convention, there will be nine education sessions based on expert practices. These sessions will focus on proven best practices and innovative ideas from Carpet One Floor & Home members facilitate by the Carpet One Floor & Home team.

“These expert sessions are a prime example of how the Carpet One Floor & Home’s management team can work together with our members to create something truly impactful to our business,” Gilbert said.

The convention will close with an awards ceremony and closing event at the Newseum, one of Washington, D.C.’s newest and most sought-after venues.
