Saddle Brook, N.J. —Floor covering and home accents manufacturer Nourison has announced the retirement of Owen Baker, western regional sales manager, after 16 years of service. Derek Lopez, currently the northern California territory manager for Nourison, will step into Baker’s role as of May 1.

Baker has been in the flooring industry for 52 years, including Oriental Weavers, Coronet Carpets, Monticello Carpets, Lee’s Carpet and Burlington Industries.

“When the opportunity presented itself, I wanted to work for Nourison because of their reputation and quality of merchandise,” Baker said. “What I will miss the most about Nourison is working alongside some of the nicest people I have met in my 52 years in the business, the excitement of working for a reputable company, and working with the Peykar family who treated me as more than just an employee.”

“Owen is a true professional, an absolute pleasure to work with and he has a great sense of humor,” said Alex Peykar, principal at Nourison.

“We will miss his vast experience and boundless enthusiasm. He has set a standard for work ethic and professionalism that has benefited customers and work associates alike. He will always be a part of the Nourison legacy and the Nourison family,” added Gerard O’Keefe, vice president of sales at Nourison.
