Mr. David’s Flooring is not your typical commercial flooring distribution and installation company. In addition to being a Chicagoland family-run business, it is also an organization focused on supporting the community by highlighting critical local initiatives and needs such as cancer awareness.

Kristina Russell, a manager at Mr. David’s Flooring and founder and president of Kittie’s Warriors, decided she needed to help those who are battling cancer after losing her mother, Kittie, to cancer in 2013; supporting her sister during her cancer battle; and surviving cancer herself. This led Russell and her Mr. David’s Flooring “work family” to found the Kittie’s Warriors Foundation to provide cancer patients with individual support.

Recently, the Kittie’s Warriors Foundation and Bosch Power Tools funded a grant to alleviate some of the burden Agampreet Nayer, a single mother of two boys, has experienced since her cancer diagnosis. Russel told Nayer, “It’s a tough situation to be in, but we are glad to be here today to be able to provide you with some relief.”

Kittie’s Warriors Foundation is a Chicagoland non-profit organization dedicated to helping cancer patients of all types on an individual level. The foundation provides financial grants to cancer patients as part of its mission to help patients overcome some of the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. Through the support of generous sponsors and donors, along with the sale of handmade crafts, Kittie’s Warriors raises the money to fund these grants.

Mr. David’s Flooring’s charitable foundation, Mr. David’s Foundation, has a long history of philanthropic community engagement. In addition to starting Kittie’s Warriors Foundation, the foundation also partners with Alexian Brothers Foundation, Wings & Talons, Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and more.

Bosch Power Tool’s involvement with Kittie’s Warriors Foundation and Mr. David’s Flooring is part of Bosch Local Heroes Acts of Coolness, a series that highlights local heroes from the construction industry in their communities across the country. After putting in countless hours on the job, many of Bosch’s users are champions who donate time and effort to making their community a better place to live. Bosch developed the Bosch Local Heroes web series to shine a light on their efforts.
