Eldred “Cal” Elshoff, founder of Design Materials, a commercial flooring distribution and representation company based in Pasadena, Calif., passed away on Nov. 7, 2019 at the age of 91. Cal was an Ohio native, graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Bronze Star recipient (Korean Conflict), accomplished woodturner, and practicing architect until 1977 when he and his wife, Irene, started Design Materials. He will be fondly remembered as one of the “good guys” in the our industry.
