PPG announced that it will showcase its innovative approach to color styling and trend consultation in the wood and building products segment during The International Surfaces Event (TISE) at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Jan. 28-30. The PPG booth will feature Chinese Porcelain – PPG paint brand’s 2020 Color of the Year – and the company’s complete array of innovative solutions in wood and luxury vinyl coatings.

Unveiled last June by PPG’s global color experts, Chinese Porcelain is a blend of cobalt and moody ink blue that imparts calmness and restful sleep while offering a spirit of hopefulness. The booth will feature wood and vinyl flooring options that complement the 2020 color of the year to inspire visitors.

“Drawing upon PPG’s century-plus heritage in floor coatings innovation, our color team brings expertise that spans across industries and geographies,” said Justin Epler, PPG coil and building product director. “The team’s vast knowledge of the flooring industry helps companies identify and respond to emerging trends, which enables our customers to more readily anticipate consumer demand for specific colors and styles.”

In addition to its color expertise, PPG will highlight products for every step of the coatings process for wood and luxury vinyl flooring. These include basecoats, primers, fillers, stains, sealers and topcoats. Experts from PPG’s dedicated wood coating research and development lab in Springdale, Pennsylvania, will be available to answer questions about wood floor finishing and innovations.

Products on display at the PPG booth will include PPG CLARITAGE III anti-scratch topcoats and PPG RAYCRON ultraviolet (UV)-curable coatings. PPG Claritage III coatings feature nanotechnology and proprietary PPG UV-cure resins to resist scratches, stains and other damaging materials, such as shoe polish, nail polish, mustard, iodine, food color and more.

PPG Raycron coatings are durable water- and solvent-free products based on 100% solids formulations. They require less energy for curing compared to coatings finished in hot air ovens and produce virtually no air or water pollution.

PPG manufactures wood and luxury vinyl floor coatings in a full range of technologies to meet the demands of its customers. Products include 100% and reduced solids UV-curable coatings, waterborne and solvent-borne coatings, and spray and vacuum-applied coatings.
