Mohawk continues to develop introductions for Godfrey Hirst, the leading flooring company in Australia and New Zealand, with nine updates within the SmartStrand, EverLux Nylon and wool categories, along with a redesigned merchandising system.

Upon acquiring Godfrey Hirst in 2018, Mohawk wasted no time incorporating the latest colors, patterns, textures and fibers—including the industry favorite SmartStrand—to the legacy of quality and performance that defines the Godfrey Hirst brand. This dedication to innovation will be showcased throughout the 2020 introductions, including styles featuring Mohawk’s revolutionary new ColorMax technology.

“Last year we brought SmartStrand, the softest, most durable and easiest to clean carpet on the planet, into the Godfrey Hirst product line,” said Angela Duke, director of brand marketing. “It’s been an incredible feeling to add our exclusive technology to one of the most successful manufacturers in the world. In addition to the four new Godfrey Hirst SmartStrand carpets showcasing in 2020, we will also continue to support the EverLux Nylon and wool categories with five new product offerings.”

Adding to Godfrey Hirst’s collection of the SmartStrand family, the 2020 SmartStrand introductions are:

  • Chic Appeal: A cozy frieze featuring a more tailored construction and high-twist yarn for a modern spin on a classic carpet. This contemporary frieze features a soft, neutral color palette which accentuates any room and is also great for large custom rugs.
  • Charming Edge: Transitional and edgy, this solid pattern blends diamond and parquet visuals for a modern yet traditional look. The stylish color palette ranges from traditional blue and navy to light beige, grey and taupe.
  • Classic Frame: This attractive large-scale interpretation of a Celtic knot provides dramatic visuals with a traditional touch. The classic color palette features fashionable greys, taupes and beiges.
  • Modern Texture: A subtle, geometric tonal pattern that is ideal for both modern and traditional design. This timeless pattern creates the perfect complement to any décor and is available in a wide array of colorations.

“Everybody wants carpet with striking visuals and interesting colorations. With Godfrey Hirst, we strive to innovate within the premium fiber categories and keep constructions timeless,” explained Jason Randolph, senior vice president of residential sales. “Our ColorMax technology creates styles that are unique with beautifully blended and balanced colorations. Consumers get the impact they desire.”

The 2020 EverLux collection includes Graceful Intrigue, a trendy multi-color cut pile comprised of steel blue, grey and taupe, and features new ColorMax technology. Godfrey Hirst will also unveil a new ColorMax pattern with a modern take on the traditional diamond trellis visual.

In the tufted wool category, Godfrey Hirst will debut Alderney, a high-styled herringbone pattern offered in both solid and tonal colorations; Berber Vogue 2, a traditional heathered, level loop in trending colorations such as taupe and greys; and Collanmore, a cozy, chunky large loop wool available in a variety of solid and heathered colorations.

Adding to the successful Godfrey Hirst retail floor plan that launched in 2019, the brand will offer a new, cohesive merchandising system in 2020. This redesigned collection features contemporary wing cards and cut set displays with Godfrey Hirst branding.
