Commercial Carpet Logistics (CCL), a Maryland trucking company that services the flooring industry, is volunteering its trucks and drivers to deliver truckloads of food to city food banks while they have the capacity available as they wait for the floor covering industry to recover from the COVID-19 global pandemic.
CCL has partnered with Move for Hunger, a non-profit organization that connects transportation companies to food banks and other charities that feed communities across America, to assist those in dire need during this public health crisis.
“It’s easy to look at declining revenues and dwell on what could have been, but at CCL, we truly believe the secret to living is giving and the path to true greatness has always been paved by those that serve,” said CCL executive vice president, Cassie Sealing.
Move for Hunger connected CCL with the Share Food Program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which distributes food items to food banks across the entire city. Over the last several days, the flooring carrier has delivered nearly 80 pallets of pantry items that were generously donated by The Kraft Heinz Company.
“We hear a lot about corporate greed, but I feel it’s important to recognize that there are many private companies contributing to relief efforts right now, especially in the flooring industry.” Sealing said.
CCL is a family-owned trucking company that has specialized in flooring deliveries from Dalton, Georgia to the Mid-Atlantic region for more than 15 years. For more information on CCL, go to https://www.carpetlogistics.com.
