In late June, Governor Kemp announced the construction of CFL Flooring’s newest facility in Calhoun, GA. Since this announcement, CFL has began building out their executive team to support this new operation that will employ up to 300 people by the end of next year.

“This marks a next step in our plan to become a global company, producing closer to where our goods are being sold,” said Thomas Baert, owner and president of CFL. “We are looking forward to contributing to the economic wellbeing of the community in Calhoun, Gordon County, and Georgia.

The first to join the team was Tony Swink as Director of Manufacturing. Swink has over 30 years of experience in the flooring industry and will be overseeing the launch and operation of the new plant once it opens in the Spring of 2021. As a local Calhoun resident, Swink has been very active in the Calhoun Community serving on the School Board for 15 years.

“I am very excited to be a part of the CFL family” says Swink. “I look forward to establishing our manufacturing site and creating jobs in Gordon County. Our company culture and leadership will drive us to be the preferred employer in northwest Georgia.”

The second to join the team was Christi Sparks, who has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources in the flooring industry. She will be the HR Director for CFL USA and will be handling all hiring and talent recruitment.

The most recent addition to the team was Mike Roloff. Roloff will be the Director of Finance for CFL USA. Roloff has over 20 years of experience for global conglomerates such as Motorola & Textron and Astec Industries.

In the weeks ahead, CFL USA will begin looking to hire electric and maintenance technicians who will be willing to travel abroad and start training this fall. Most of the plant’s work force hiring will begin in 2021. Additional information regarding job inquiries can be directed to jobsUSA@CFLflooring.com.
