CCA Global Partners recently honored two young entrepreneurs from within the company’s sprawling continental family.

The Alan Greenberg Memorial Scholarship, named for CCA’s late co-founder, is awarded annually to two college students that capture Alan’s passion for innovation, community, and entrepreneurship. Honorees receive up to $5,000 in scholarship funds. Applications, open to all current CCA employees, subcontractors, and their immediate family members, are currently being accepted for 2021.

Stella Hehnly, a junior at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, and the daughter of Carpet One of Morgantown, WV owner Joe Hehnly; and Gigi Riesenberg, a freshman at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH, and the daughter of Prosource of Erie, PA owner Steve Riesenberg, are the latest in a long line of talented young people to earn this prestigious award.

Stella, enrolled in the university’s College of Business and Economics, is currently pursuing a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management with a minor in Marketing. She’s maintained a 4.0 GPA and has completed over 200 hours of volunteer work with her school’s Women in Business Club. She’s currently on track to graduate college a year early, Stella regularly attends local business group meetings with her father, and she aspires to open a bakery someday.

“I hope to use my skills to grow my business into a profitable enterprise successfully,” says Stella, who describes herself as a very outgoing person who profoundly values community and customer satisfaction.

Gigi is currently a freshman pursuing a degree in Exercise Science at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH, but she’s already a rising star in her local business community. While still in high school, a simple act of making tee shirts quickly morphed into a successful business, Bygigi, which specializes in custom shirts. The business continues to grow, and she hopes to expand into self-care, nutrition, and fitness eventually.

“As an owner of a growing business, there are many responsibilities, including marketing: especially through social media,” Gigi noted. “Being ethical, appropriate, and aware of what is going on in the world are all part of a media presence.”

CCA Global Partners will be accepting applications for its Alan Greenberg Scholarship Program through June 1, 2021.
