Greenbuild's half-day virtual symposium takes place on Thursday, December 9 at 11:00 a.m. EST. Design leaders and subject matter experts discuss the impacts of product selection for the built environment.

Kellie Ballew, vice president of global sustainability, Shaw Industries, kicks off the Design Connect + Learn portion of the event. Rachel Hodgdon, president and CEO, International Well Building Institute, is the keynote speaker. She will take a look at the five key trends going into 2022 that shape design for people and the planet. 

Healthy Materials Lab's Catherine Murphy, senior research associate, and Leila Behjat, senior researcher, take a look at the factors that can contribute to informed and determined decisions with material health and sustainability in mind. 

Experts from Shaw Industries, HKS, Boulder Associates and Perkins&Will provide their perspectives on the various certification programs and tools they use to find products that meet the health, safety and functionality requirements of their customers. 

Biophilic and interior design is the final session of the day. It is led by Kim Nadel, design consultant, Gaia Inspired Design & Consulting. 

A roundtable discussion offers participants the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the speakers.
