Unilin Technologies and i4F have entered into an agreement whereby i4F obtained, under certain conditions, a right to further sublicense the mineral core patents owned by Karl-Heinz Scholz and the Swiss company Li&Co AG.

In 2016, Unilin Technologies entered into an exclusive partnership agreement with Karl-Heinz Scholz and Li&Co to promote the mineral core-based panel technology and to strengthen the position of the related patents that were filed by Karl-Heinz Scholz and Li&Co. As a consequence, licensees of Unilin Technologies could obtain additional protection on these patents, giving them an easier access to this mineral core product category.

I4F’s new sub-licensing rights for this portfolio means the company can offer its licensees enhanced freedom to operate and access to these technologies. With immediate effect, i4F licensees manufacturing mineral and mineral fibre core-based panels—including gypsum, magnesium oxide, cement and cement fibre based panels—featuring i4F drop-lock technologies can sign up to get freedom to operate the technologies covered by this portfolio.
