Kährs has introduced Zero & Green, a new PVC-free high-performance flooring solution for projects with tough environmental, health and safety requirements.

Certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, Zero & Green is especially well-suited for building projects with a clear sustainability profile, the company said. Forty percent of the virgin polymer in Zero & Green is biobased and it contains up to 50% recycled Enomer material and has the same performance and usability properties as the rest of the Zero range. The complete Kährs Zero range is now produced with 100% renewable energy, reducing the CO2 footprint of Zero Sheet with 32%.

The Nordic Swan Ecolabel criteria is built upon a life cycle assessment perspective – from raw material to end of life – and only the environmentally best products receive the Nordic Swan Ecolabel. It is an effective program for helping companies that are working on sustainable solutions – while also helping consumers and professional buyers to choose environmentally sound goods and services. Products with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel need to have a high proportion of renewable and/or recycled materials; meet stringent requirements on chemicals harmful to health and the environment; should guarantee low emissions and a good indoor environment; be manufactured energy efficiently and have good durability.
